“mind over matter”
When I felt like we’re almost losing during the volleyball game championship (4th set), I told myself hopelessly, “papirde nalang ta ah, kapoy na gd ko, sakit na tiil ko.” (let’s give up the game, i’m tired, my feet are killing me)
In spite of this, Aljun (allen john lira) kept telling us “mind over matter lang na, madaug ta!” (it’s only mind over matter, we’ll win!) But then, I didn’t grasp what he’s been telling us, all I knew was that I am tired; all I wanted was to rest.
Despite the hopelessness, there was Aljun, who was very positive and kept reminding us, “mind over matter lang na, kun paminsarun niyo madaug ta, madaug ta.” (it’s only mind over matter, if you’ll think we’ll win, we’ll win!)
After all, Aljun was right. When you’ll think you’ll win despite all the odds, added with a very good disposition, you’ll really win.
I remembered my last few months of my 3rd year in the college. I almost quit, i got tired of the stress, the pressure. But then, i thought of what might happen if ever i’d quit, “kun maquit ko subong, maanu nalang ko sa sunod?”
See? It’s only mind over matter.. haha.. if i’ve given up, i wouldn’t have wrote this to tell you what had happened during the best (and worst) Nursing Fundays I’ve ever experienced.
